    • Argy Family to benefit from NASCAR-autographed Helmet Raffle at Kart Expo
      Karting guru Tom Argy Jr., in one of his last acts of kindness and generosity for the karting industry prior to his sudden and tragic death last week, obtained the autographs of nearly all of the 2003 NASCAR drivers on an auto racing helmet. The helmet was to be raffled at the 2004 Kart Expo with all proceeds going to a local Chicago-area charity.
    • Skip Barber renames popular scholarship program in memory of the late Hollis Brown
      Skip Barber Racing is pleased to announce that it will name one of its Barber-Champ Car Karting Scholarship Program recipients each year in memory of the late Hollis Brown. Hollis was instrumental in the development and implementation of this program since its inception in 1997.
    • Burris Racing moves to new address
      Popular karting tire and parts manufacturer, Burris Racing, announced the re-location of their California offices to a new location in Huntington Beach, California.
    • Mid-State Kart Club Awards 2003 Season Champs
      Mid-State Kart Club (MSKC) celebrated its 43rd season of operation on November 15 by honoring its point champions at the Riverton Eagles Club. Over 120 people were in attendance to enjoy a catered dinner and the awards presentations. Each racer received a custom made trophy plaque which included a picture of their racing kart from the 2003 season at Mid-State Raceway.
    • Michiana Kart Klub Awards Banquet great end to a great seasonMichiana Kart Klub held their 2003 awards banquet Sunday at Christiana Creek in Elkhart, Indiana. The dinner started with a letter from South Bend Raceway Park's owner Mel McCallum thanking the club for nine years of racing and encouraging drivers to continue in MKK's tenth season in 2004.
    • American Bell testing for second Jaguar seatTownsend Bell of the United States is one of the drivers being considered as Mark Webber's teammate at Jaguar Racing for the 2004 Formula One season, which includes the United States Grand Prix on June 20 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Bell, 28, will be one of several drivers testing for Jaguar at Spain's Valencia circuit from Nov. 25-27.
    • Fran-Am finals at AMP: Round 13 recap
      Sixteen year-old Canadian Andrew Ranger has clinched the Title in the 2003 FRAN AM 2000 North American Pro Championship Series. With his second place finish and fastest lap in Round 13, Ranger has 325 points; clinching the Title by one point before tomorrow's season finale at Arizona Motorsports Park in Phoenix.
    • Great fun had at KLEIN TOOLS / Great Lakes Region SKUSA Awards Banquet
      The KLEIN TOOLS / Great Lakes Region year end awards banquet was held last Saturday Night, November 29 at the Anderson, IN Holiday INN. Over 106 persons attending were pleasantly surprised at the quality BUSH Trophy Case & Embroidery trophies and Series points winner jackets for our point winners. All race classes top five-point series class winners received the very nice year end trophy, Jacket, and an assortment of KLEIN TOOLS packaged in a 100% leather tool carrier.
    • Updated "History of America's Speedway" is now available
      The new edition of the History of AMERICA'S SPEEDWAYS, Past & Present is now available. The long-awaited third edition lists information on the over 8,000 auto racing facilities that have existed since the dawn of the automobile. The information in the 850-page book includes the various names, track sizes and surfaces, and the years each track operated. The library-quality book includes data on active and defunct tracks, from the famous to the most obscure.
    • Jim Pfeifer passes away
      James (Jim) J. Pfeifer, owner of Pfeifer Industries in West Chicago, Illinois died suddenly on Tuesday, December 2,2003. Pfeifer, 53, a machinist by trade, developed belt drive systems for the karting industry.
    • Kart Shirts - 'Nuff Said' named official supplier to Kart Expo
      Indiana-based Kart Shirts 'Nuff Said' has been selected as the official apparel supplier for the upcoming Kart Expo International. As they have in past years, Kart Shirts will design and produce colorful Kart Expo T-Shirts and Sweat Shirts for the 2004 event which will be available for sale at the show in Booth number 07/08.
    • KIC sponsors 'Track Directors Workshop' at Kart Expo
      The Karting Industry Council (KIC), the US kart racing industry's trade association, will sponsor a one-day "Track Directors Workshop" at the 2004 Kart Expo on Friday, February 20 at Pheasant Run Resort and Convention Center in St. Charles, Illinois. The program will provide helpful information and available options for race directors and their assistants.
    • Midwest Racing Expo around the corner
      The date of the 16th Annual Midwest Racing Expo & Swap Meet is fast approaching for those karting enthusiasts across the Midwest. The popular karting trade show & swap meet will again be held on Sunday, January 25, 2004 at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 Manchester Road, Wheaton, IL and there is still booth space available.
    • Path Valley honors region's top Kart, Quad and Bike racersEthan Beasom of Mifflintown won the Rookie of the Year award in Path Valley Speedway Park's Burris Karting for 2003 and Andrew Boyer of Chambersburg won the Rising Star Award as Two Wheel Promotions honored the top kart, quad and bike riders in the region Saturday night, Nov. 15. Young Beasom finished fourth in the highly competitive Jr. Sportsman II class of flatkarts and Boyer accumulated the most points in the Kids Karts.
    • Red Bull rewards America's finest racing talent
      The Red Bull Driver Search announced the winners of the 2003 program at the famed Madison Avenue Sports Car Driving and Chowder Society's monthly meeting. The meeting was in conjunction with the International Automotive Media Awards and Brock Yates of Car and Driver, Jean Jennings of Automobile Magazine and Roger Werner of SpeedVision fame were present among scores of automotive industry and media representatives, and over 150 members of the Chowder Society.

    • Robbie Pecorari wins Champ Car "Stars of Tomorrow" Formula Dodge National Championship Scholarship Award for 2004
      National ICA (100cc direct drive) point champion Robbie Pecorari has been named the winner of the annual Champ Car Stars of Tomorrow Scholarship Award for the 2004 Skip Barber Formula Dodge National Championship Presented by Racer. Pecorari, the 16-year-old karting phenom from Aston, Pa., was one of the nation's top performers in the Snap-on.com Champ Car Stars of Tomorrow national circuit after recording five ICA wins in nine races.
    • Team Rahal to provide Toyota Atlantic test for Champ Car "Stars of Tomorrow" champions
      Team Rahal, one of the leading open-wheel racing teams in North America, announced today that it would provide a full-day Toyota Atlantic Championship test to the ICC and ICA category winners of the 2003 Champ Car Stars of Tomorrow competition. The two rising stars will each participate in a full-day test in Team Rahal's Argent Mortgage Toyota/Swift with Team Rahal's Toyota Atlantic team December 10-11 at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, North Carolina.
    • TAG USA - A new beginning
      Upon the sudden and tragic death of its founder and president Tom Argy Jr., TAG USA found itself without a leader. After a lengthy conversation with son Tommy Argy, it was felt that this important and successful program be turned over to Dave Larson of the International Racing Association. During the past two weeks, Mr. Larson has contacted scores of individuals on both sides of the Atlantic to discuss the future of the program.
    • Team Biland USA to update customer's enginesTo best service its customers, Team Biland USA has retained the services of its mechanics from Switzerland, to train Biland service centers and to update older engines, rebuild them, and if they can be certified the engines can be sealed. Engines can be updated to the 2004 specifications and brought up to legal standards at our new location in California. The engines, which can be sealed, will be legal for TAG USA, the Biland Challenge and other Biland events.
