"The Time Has Come"

The time has come the Walrus said to speak of many things...of karts and tracks and race car drivers and cabbages and kings.

Racing season is here in full force and I for one am delighted. A sudden growth spurt in the sport, primarily in shifters and TAG, have caused Team Rapid Racing to curtail many of the road trips this year. While I will miss many of my good roadracing friends never fear as the mysterious Gooseman (?) and I are still going at it hard, just with a little different focus. The local scene here in Central Indiana has caught fire with a vengeance, primarily due to the installation of the brand new New Castle Motorsports Park (NCMP). At this point our personal program has been limited to frequent testing at NCMP but we will be taking the green flag soon, very soon. The red-hot local scene has limited the time available for our own projects, but as the saying goes "business is business".

If any of you get the chance to take in an event at NCMP you won't be disappointed. There has been some great racing going on, and as the other old saying goes "You ain't seen nothing yet!"

As predicted, TAG has taken off big-time, often being one of the biggest classes in the paddock. Is this a big part of the future of the sport? You bet! TAG, along with the continued growth of the Shifter ranks clearly to me at least point at the direction the sport has headed.

Well, the work load here at the shop is going to keep this column on the short side, but don't worry, there is plenty enough going on to keep things interesting. After all "The Race is never over!"

Until next time Race Hard, Race Safe and God Bless America!
