"Our View of Life"

For most of us, the race season has started and the results are in. The off-season's changes applied through a lot of hard work have reaped their benefits, or have they? How do we know? By entering the race, the true test. For me, the results are the fast are still faster. Besides, I found some new problems I didn't have last year. Well, that's racing, and I'm glad that in the total perspective of things, karting is not my whole life, just a piece of the pie. In fact, it's just the dessert, which I enjoy. That's the view I take from a Christian perspective. That view permeates the whole pie of life.

Let's look at karting with a true view. We will call it the Karting WorldView. A person having this view would have right thinking and actions as a karter. They would speak well of race officials and support them in every way. Tech rules would gladly be obeyed and to cheat to win wouldn't even be part of their thinking. Driving style would always have safety of the other racer in mind. They would find it a joy to pay necessary fees for racing like pit passes, practice and race entrance. They would also promote karting by helping newcomers and teaching others like me how to improve. And, they would even attend Chapel Services, taking time to honor God.

As we have described a person having a Karting WorldView, now let's consider a Christian World View. George Barna, a Christian researcher, has come up with eight statements to check our thinking. A person with a Christian World View would: 1) Believe in absolute moral truth; 2) Believe in the Bible as the absolute truth; 3) Believe in the accuracy of Biblical teaching; 4) Believe in the sinless nature of Jesus; 5) Believe in the literal existence of Satan; 6) Believe in the all powerful and knowing nature of God; 7) Believe in salvation by grace alone; and 8) Believe in a Christian's responsibility to evangelize. These shall be subjects of upcoming messages and Chapel Services.
