"Glory"

For men and boys there is nothing more enjoyable than using their skills to accomplish a certain goal...to conquer something. God has made us this way and it reveals itself clearly in karting. We are so proud when our karts look good and are performing at the top of the lap times for our particular class. Especially when WE are driving them! We can tinker with them for endless hours and when at the end of the day at the track it produces good results we are complete, fulfilled and blessed. We sometimes long to be with our karts in the shop or garage but other priorities frequently get in the way.

For women and girls this comes out in the decorating of their living places. Then there's the glory she wants to display in the way she fixes herself up, her wardrobe, jewelry, makeup, hairstyle etc... For a woman to prepare for a special event is a time consuming operation and the results can be an emotional high or low.

It is therefore obvious that mankind created in the image of God has no problem understanding the word Glory. Psalm 8 says, "What is man that you are mindful of him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings, and crowned him with glory and honor. You made him ruler over the works of your hands". Remember, it is God who has given us this glory! Should we not return with the exclamation, HOW MAJESTIC IS YOUR NAME!" My question to you is this? Is it not a shame that what God has given us, takes permanence over our bringing glory to Him, the gift over the giver. We know our Father has feelings, for are we not created in his image. Join me in this off-season in strengthening the relationship he wants to have with us. Glory to his name!
