PEORIA, ILL. -- Maroon's Kart Systems sells and services race karts, go-karts and mini-bikes to both racers and sub-dealers.

Maroon's Kart Systems specializes in offering local racers set-up information for local tracks including gearing and tire compounds. That's the kind of support a customer can expect when doing business with Maroon's Kart Systems. "One of our specialties is our ability to support the products I sell with on the shelf product support," said Jim Maroon, owner of Maroon's Kart System.

Maroon's Kart Systems is also a race organizer and director for pro and charity karting events.

One of Maroon's Kart System's most successful programs is the rent-a-racer program for those who are interested in racing, but not quite ready to make the investment. With this program prospective drivers get a taste of racing in a kart seat before diving in. "The race kart rentals gives racers confidence that I am offering products capable of winning," noted Maroon.

An example of that is Josh Walker. Walker is a Junior II driver who went from rent-a-racer to feature winner in just eight races.

Maroon's Kart System sells most major products including Margay, Gearbox, BKS' Go-Karts, Briggs & Stratton, Yamaha, Bridgestone, FHS Oil, Douglas Wheel, Coleman Products and many many more.

Drivers such as Wes Jones, who won the Illinois State Speedway Championship in the 4-cycle Heavy and Medium classes, and Mike Bailliez, a 2-cycle hotshoe, are sponsored by Maroon's Kart System, along with events such as the Peoria Karting Shoot-out and the Illinois State Speedway Championship.

Other drivers who do business at Maroon's Kart Systems are Curt and Linda Mottaz, Todd Nelson, Casey Boulton, Willie Archdale, Monica Jones, Jeff Slaughter and many more.

Along with the rent-a-racer program, Maroon's Kart System also offers a trackside part's trailer at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill., 74 Speedway in Knoxville, Ill., and at Peoria Speedway.

There are five people employed at Maroon's Kart System including Pat Turner, Todd Nelson and Casey Boulton.

Maroon's Kart System opened in 1989. "I won $500 at a charity race event. I bought the "house" kart with the winnings, started racing, opened a store and Maroon's Kart System keeps on growing," added Maroon.

Maroon's Kart System offer walk-in/over the counter service as well as phone orders.

Be sure to be on the lookout for the 1997 catalog offered by Maroon's Kart System for $1.

Maroon's Kart System will have its fifth annual swap meet on January 5 and a racing seminar in February.
