PVL USA - A Division of Penton Imports Co. Inc.
Specializing in the sale and service of PVL Electronic Ignition Systems
AMHERST, OHIO --
In 1969, John Penton, a noted off road motorcycle racer, came upon a Spanish firm manufacturing an ignition that did away with the breaker points common to almost all racing engines of that era. Since dirt and water are enemies of points, and both elements occur in off road events, any chance to eliminate this problem would be a great advantage for racers. Thus began the association of Penton Imports Company with Motoplat in Spain, and the introduction of electronic ignitions to the American off road competition market. Motoplat USA later constructed itself as a sales and service company for the whole line of Motoplat Electronic ignition systems. When the Motoplat factory in Spain closed in 1993, Motoplat USA began to search for a company that could produce a suitable replacement ignition system. The German firm of PVL Electronics is the best company to supply an ignition system that will be able to replace the Motoplat Ignition market for internal rotor applications.
PVL ignitions offer a higher output than most OEM ignitions found on Japanese engines, and some European engines as well. The big benefit though is that the PVL Ignition system's costs are lower than the OEM system.
PVL USA offers complete sales and services of PVL Electronic Ignition Systems both in OEM and aftermarket applications. PVL USA has the unique ability to dynamically test the ignitions in an actual operating condition rather than just using meters. The advantage to this is that it gives an accurate idea of the ignitions function.
PVL USA is the place to get ignition kits for all Japanese single cylinder motorcycle engines-especially two stroke engines.
PVL USA has a complete machine shop in house allowing them to manufacture the necessary adaptive parts for all of their ignition kits.
